Kingston! Join your community for the Sojourner Truth Walk this Saturday to celebrate the life and legacy of Sojourner Truth through a meaningful journey of walking and storytelling.
Event Details:
Meet at Dietz Stadium at 11 AM to be driven to Esopus Town Hall, to hear remarks from local officials and Frank Waters, Executive Director of My Kingston Kids.
The walk will begin at 11:30 AM from Esopus Town Hall and end at Old Dutch Church around 2:30 PM (4.3 miles).
Along the way, participants will make several stops at historic locations, including:

At the final stop, Old Dutch Church, Kingston, New York, there will be refreshments and a special performance by Rev. Deborah Zuill, who has portrayed Sojourner Truth for over 20 years. She will bring history to life with a reenactment of the powerful speech, “Ain’t I a Woman?”
Accessibility: A UCAT-sponsored bus will follow the route, allowing participants to ride between stops if needed. This ensures that everyone can take part in honoring Sojourner Truth’s legacy.
