We’re excited to announce the first MBA block party! We’re going to shut down Cedar Street from Iwo Jima to Broadway, from 12pm to 5pm for a day of summer celebration. What’s more, this event is in conjunction with the Drawathon block party on Iwo Jima, happening from 10am to 10pm.
On the MBA side, we’ll have djs, food trucks, and booths with informational resources for businesses.
Music includes Mariachi Charros de Mi Tierra (1-2pm), Brasskill (2-2:45pm), and DJ Nena Morena (4-5pm).
On the Drawathon side, the D.R.A.W. studio will be covered with paper and ready for everyone to enter and unleash their creativity from 10am to 10pm.. In addition, the 12-hour event will spill out of the studio and into the streets, with a Steamroller Print event from 11am to 2pm. Steamroller printing uses an actual steamroller to create large format prints from giant linocut blocks made by over 20 local artists. More info about the Drawathon here.
Both events are free and open to the public. Come make some art, listen to some music, eat a snack, pick up some community resources, and make some new friends.
This project is made possible, in whole or in part, with support from the federal American Rescue Plan Act funds awarded to the City of Kingston by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
